First off, I want to thank you, Krystina, for being such a wonderful host! I feel honored to get to share this tutorial with you all here today.
My girls, Ruby and Ginger, and I have recently discovered bird watching! We are so in love with our local winged friends. Today’s tutorial is in honor of spring, and birds, and fun colors, and for the love of an easy crochet project.
a springtime crochet birdie tutorial
This little birdie is made from a round granny square, that I folded in half, stitched up and added a beak and a hanging string. I always start all my circular crochet projects off with the magic circle. You can follow along with my previously posted tutorial for the magic circle here. You will want to have 12 dc in your circle including your chain 3.Then you can proceed to make yourself a round granny square, I think Blair at Wisecraft did a fantastic tutorial here. You’ll want to start at Round 2 of Blair’s instructions if you’ve already made your magic circle. And then finish with Round 3.
Once you’ve made your round granny square, you will need to fold it in half and do a simple sc through both halves to hold them together.
Now my little corner table is ready for spring, and happy with little birdies!
