why shop at costco?
yes, most things are less expensive there, also if you use their amex card you get money back annually.
its a win/win and i like win/wins :)
diapers, wipes, frozen food – that’s the easy part. it’s cheaper and non perishable
the tricky part is produce
if you buy a 4 pound bag of broccoli and don’t finish it before it goes bad then you just wasted money -defeating the whole purpose of shopping at costco in the first place. it takes planning and a little work to shop at costco exclusively for your family, so if you throw food out on a regular basis you should shop somewhere else or you are actually spending more money…
freeze the bag of garlic
frozen fruit makes a good snack
freeze peeled bananas in a freezer bag before they turn brown
you don’t need 2 fridges or a deep freeze
shop once every 3 weeks!
the milk is unbeatable for the price and it’s the freshest milk i can find
i’ve tried Target, Trader Joes, Albertsons, Vons, Ralphs, Rite Aid, CVS… they all cost more than Costco and they only have a couple days before they sour, we get 2-4 gallons once every 3 weeks at costco with some trips to wherever is convenient to replenish (Mr. Boy has quite an intake of whole milk) and due to allergies we also buy rice milk and almond milk and we are able to fit these + the
pasta with meatballs, garlic bread and romaine salad
crock chicken sandwiches
turkey or hamburgers with tater-tots
roasted chicken with rosemary and basmati rice
tzatziki with grilled shrimp and chicken on warmed pita bread or tortillas
oven roasted tri-tip
